It’s considered an unlucky number in Italy. In Italy, people are so afraid of the number 17 that, similar to how it is with number 13; people skip the number 17 in almost everything.
There is no room 17 in hotels, no 17th floor, etc. etc.
This is because 17 is written as XVII in Roman numerals which is an anagram for the Latin expression VIXI, which translates to “I lived” indicating that the person is dead.
The number 17 Tarot card is called the card of the Stars.
It shows a naked woman kneeling at the edge of a pond, pouring water over the land.
The card represents hope. According to the Persian alchemist and Sufi, Jabir Ibn Hayyan, the number 17 represents balance and harmony in everything.
He mentioned it in the Books of the Balance that “17 has to be considered the rue of the balance of each thing”.
If we add the first 17 integers, the result will be 153.
St. Augustine believed that there was something peculiar about the relationship between 17 and 153.
He believed that when the world ends, 153 saints will rise from their graves.
